Winter Carnival Generates Fun - and Funds -
for the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House!
Direct marketers (also known on December 6th as Snow Kings and Snow Bunnies) made an impressive showing at the PDMA's 14th annual December event to benefit the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House. While it was cold and snowy outside, spirits were warm and bright at the Desmond Hotel in Malvern - the location of our inviting and exciting Winter Carnival.
The evening's themed activities included a cozy corner for snowball fights, karaoke challenge, a surprise visit from a jolly singing Santa, Siberian auction, Pop & See balloons, duck pond, spinning wheel, a psychic reader, and a 50/50 raffle. In total the Winter Carnival raised $6,000 to benefit directly the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House.
Started in Philadelphia in 1974 as a unique partnership among Children's Hospital, the Philadelphia Eagles, and McDonald's Corporation, the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House provides a home away from home for families of seriously ill children - a model which has been copied around the world. Today there are more than 270 Ronald McDonald Houses in 50 countries, with more being developed every day. In fact, a second Ronald McDonald House will be constructed in Philadelphia in 2008.
